The Tour to the South Valley of Cusco takes you to visit important attractions such as the town of Andahuaylillas where the impressive San Pedro chapel is located, the Pikillacta archaeological center, the Tipón water Temple, a place where water rituals were performed. ITINERARY
- This tour begins with pickup from your hotel at 08:00 hrs.
- 08:30 hrs begins the trip to the South of Cusco, which allows you to observe beautiful landscapes during the journey.
- The first visit is to the archaeological center of Tipón, considered a ceremonial center dedicated to Water. In this place you can see stone aqueducts where the flow of water was controlled from the mountain called Pachatusan and descended to the fertile lands located in the valley.
- Subsequently, a visit to the Archaeological complex of Pikillaqta or “city of fleas”, an ancient city of the Wari kingdom, considered one of the important settlements during the expansion of the Wari towards the Cusco area.
- Then the trip continues to the town of Andahuaylillas where we visit the Church of San Pedro, considered a Colonial artistic jewel and also known as “The Sistine of America” inside which houses a collection of paintings from the Cusco school adorned with frames. covered in gold leaf, baroque altarpieces and the baptismal arch where the inscription in five languages remains.
- Finally, the return trip to Cusco is undertaken. Arriving at the city center at 2:30 p.m.
